2012 One-Day Organic Garden Tour at American Bodhi Center
The day kicked off with a yoga class in the Medication Hall led by an experienced teacher. At 10:00, Dr. Sun Chang-Ning gave a talk on a popular topic: “Prevention and Treatment of Lower Back Pain” in the Dining Hall. At 11:00, a special guest speaker taught gardeners how to cope with severe weather.
After a vegetarian feast for lunch, the visitors continued to tour the organic garden and asked questions about gardening. Developed and maintained by volunteers, The American Bodhi Center’s organic garden produces a wide variety of fruits and vegetables all year round. Turnips are growing well this spring, and the visitors were delighted to pick a few turnips to take home.
The visitors had great fun touring the American Bodhi Center on golf carts and enjoying the beautiful wild flowers in the afternoon. The golf tour was followed by a group dance.
The day concluded with a meditation session led by Ven. Katapuno in the Meditation Hall. In his Dharma talk, Ven. Katapuno spoke of four ways to obtain happiness: from properly-gained wealth, helping others, being debt-free, and being guilt free.
